Portland Bikes & Brews

Biking in Portland is… GREAT!

Good MORROW everyone.

Portland as we all are aware… or at least I hope we all are… is a major capitol city for Craft Beer. A TON of Breweries this way and that way. Add to that… Portland is a HUGE biking city as well. Which means only one thing.

Hopping around town on bikes and hitting up Breweries.

And let me get this out of the way right now. Bike responsibly. And know your limits. Make sure to have some food in your stomach and drink water. And if you feel like you shouldn’t be biking… take an Uber.

Now that THAT is out of the way. The benefits of biking around to different breweries/bars. You can really take your time. Grab a pint at one place and relax. Then it may take 20 or so minutes to get to the next spot. This allows you and your body to take it easy and process that drink. And if you only hit three places over the course of an afternoon? You will completely be in the clear and certainly be burning off some of those calories you are drinking.

One of my favorite loops to do is to head Southeast from the city center towards Ladd’s Addition and Division Street. I would highly suggest biking down close to the Willamette River. You may have to take it slow since there are some pedestrians that you have to share the walkway with… but it's usually not too bad. Head across the beautiful pedestrian bridge, The Tilikum Crossing, and bike a tad bit more and you are on Division.

Division is a great stretch. It's got nearly anything you would want. Food, clothes, ice cream, bars/breweries and a ton of fun shops! Since I’m all about that Craft Beer life… let me throw down some recommendations for you. Beermongers is a MUST. Having been around since 2009… this place has an incredible bottle/can selection and a very well curated taplist. Right across the street from them is APEX. They have 50 taps that always delights and amazes.

If you head further East… you will come to my next favorite stop… Imperial Bottle Shop & Taproom. They always have a great taplist and it's a great spot to people watch.

An awesome way to get beer from the patio.

After Imperial you will get to the furthest I go on Division… Rosenstadt Brewing & Little Beast Brewing. Rosenstadt plays host to an Olympia Provisions restaurant where you will find excellent German food to pair with your drinks there. Little Beast is just a block down and has an excellent Beer Garden where you can taste their funky ales and other delicious brews. It's a real fun spot!

Little Beast!

This will MOST CERTAINLY be an ongoing feature since there are soo many amazing places here in Portland to hit up while biking. So please… do stick around and till next time!

Adios my friends.
